Notice from the city of Huntington Beach

by Coyotes In Orange County 6 Comments

As per our petition and city council meeting plea, the city has put together a brochure for the awareness.   The did not ever contact me regarding the message as promised.   So, this message is purely what they chose to state.

I wish they would have mentioned that it is not safe for a child to walk a dog.    I also wish they would have made it clearer just how aggressive these coyotes are.

Comments welcome.

The city has not responded to you because you are just some random person who refuses to educate yourself about living with coyotes and instead is just spreading hatred due to lack of knowledge. This brochure put out by the city is 100% spot on, informational and educational. The city doesn’t need to tell you to keep your kids or pets safe because that part of being a parent or having a dog is keeping them safe!!! Stop blaming others for your own responsibility

I’ve been living in a coyote ridden area with plenty of coyotes for 35 years in the Fullerton Hills. I actually enjoy seeing nature in my owm back yard which has no fences, and have had and still have one dog or another all my life. The whole clue is your own deposition. Are you scared ? Then the coyote has power over you. Do you show strength and No fear, then the Coyote will bow and run. They are smart animals and understand that they must stay out of harms way or they won’t be able to hunt anymore. Walking slowly and away all while keeping your eyes pinned applies to any type of dog, even domestic aggressive dogs.
As you put distance between you and them, that aggressive dog looses interest in you. A dog just as any other animal smells the fear on you. Be a man, stand up, and stop being a sissy. You can harmed by domestic dogs just as well as from coyotes,

we need to get them out of the area because now they are by the Westminster Mall so they are drifting further and further out going closer and closer to more populated areas. The City cant not do anything about them they aren’t endangered and they are becoming health hazards to children and family pets. How do We the people of Huntington Beach contact the city and tell there there is a coyote and get them to listen and do something we have to some how keep them out or they will just keep migrating and spread to other areas

There have always been coyotes there! Nothing new. Just educate yourself about living with them instead of complaining about something that us humans caused
